Gombe

PACT West Africa conducted an in-depth system diagnostic of the Gombe State PHC system across all six system pillars, with a deep dive into the priority pillars of health financing, HRH, and data management. The assessment formed the basis for the grant awarded to the state to strengthen its PHC system.

Kaduna

Centre for Integrated Health Programs (CIHP) provided technical assistance to Kaduna State to adapt, adopt, implement, and sustain Group Antenatal Care (G-ANC) a model for delivering ANC service in 485 PHCs across all 23 LGAs in Kaduna state.

Health Strategy Development Foundation (HSDF) is implementing the Kaduna State PHC Management Strengthening Project (KPMSP) as part of an overarching goal to improve the management capacity of PHC managers (also known as Officers-in-Charge (OICs)) through systems development and capacity building interventions; thereby addressing the operational inefficiencies of PHC managers in providing quality healthcare services at the PHC facilities. The project was implemented, in all 23 local government areas of the state in 2 phases, across 255 focal PHC facilities, and targeting PHC managers. 

Kano

Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is working with the State Ministry of Health (MOH) and Primary Health Care Management Board (PHCMB) to apply a human centered design approach for the adoption of the Group Antenatal Care (G-ANC) model in Kano State across 484 PHCs across 44 LGAs

Solina Centre for International Development and Research (SCIDaR) assessed the Kano State PHC Management capacity and impact of COVID-19 on the PHC system. The findings informed the final deliverable for the assessment which is a PHC Management Capacity Strengthening Plan.

eHealth Africa supported the state to conduct an M&E System Assessment to diagnose the system guiding the planning, coordination, and implementation of interventions in Kano state. An M&E system strengthening plan was developed as part of the key outputs of the investment.

Nasarawa

Jhpiego is providing technical assistance to Nasarawa State government to adapt, adopt, implement, and sustain GANC. Through partnership with the Nasarawa State Ministry of Health SMOH and SPHCDA, GANC is being implemented in 104 PHCs across 13 LGAs in the state.

InSiGHt Consulting conducted the Nasarawa State PHC Management Capacity Assessment to identify existing gaps, highlight required interventions and make recommendations on how the state can prioritize and implement these interventions for the purpose of strengthening the state’s PHC management capacity.

Yobe

HANOVIA assessed the PHC Management Capacity and COVID-19’s effects on the PHC system in Yobe State. The assessment saw to the development the PHC Management Capacity Strengthening Plan for the state.

 AHNi is providing technical assistance to Yobe State government to adapt, adopt, implement, and sustain GANC. Through partnership with the Yobe State Ministry of Health SMOH and SPHCDA, GANC is being scaled up to all LGAs and focal PHC facilities across the state

Borno

NOIPolls conducted an M&E System Assessment to identify the system governing the planning, coordinating, and execution of interventions in Borno state. One of the primary outcomes of the investment was the creation of a plan to strengthen the M&E system.

Pathfinder is currently supporting Borno State to adapt, adopt, implement, and sustain GANC as a platform to layer other RMNCH high impact interventions. Through partnership with the Borno State Ministry of Health SMOH and SPHCDA, GANC is being scaled up in the state to all the local Government Areas

Lagos

ARFH is in working with the State Ministry of Health (MOH) and Primary Health Care Management Board (PHCMB) to apply a human centered design approach for the adoption of the G-ANC model Lagos State.

Leverage is currently providing technical assistance to Lagos State government to assess PHC Management capacity and impact of COVID-19 on the PHC system. The findings from the assessment will inform the final deliverable-the development of a PHC Management Capacity Strengthening Plan.

Insight is providing technical assistance to the Lagos State Government to conduct an M&E System Assessment to diagnose and identify gaps in the existing State’s primary health care monitoring and evaluation system. This assessment will inform the development of a costed M&E system strengthening plan as part of the key outputs of the investment.

Niger

Project Hope is working with the State Ministry of Health (MOH) and Primary Health Care Management Board (PHCMB) to apply a human centered design approach for the adoption of the G-ANC model in Niger State.

Sydani is currently providing TA to the Niger State government to implement the Niger State PHC Management Strengthening Project (NPMSP) as part of an overarching goal to improve the management capacity of PHC managers (also known as Officers-in-Charge (OICs) through systems development and capacity building interventions.

Insight is supporting the Niger state government to conduct an M&E system assessment of existing primary health care monitoring and evaluation systems, identify gaps in the State’s primary health care monitoring and evaluation system which will inform the development of a costed PHC M&E system strengthening plan.
