The second quarter of 2023 highlights TAConnect’s sustained investments in strengthening primary healthcare (PHC) systems across Nigeria. This edition showcases how our systems-focused approach is revitalizing PHC performance and improving the uptake of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health, and Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) services to drive better maternal and child health outcomes.
A key highlight is our partnership with the Kano State Government, which has contributed to increased uptake of the rotavirus vaccine, supporting efforts to reduce childhood diarrhea in high-burden communities. We also share insights into the forthcoming Community Group Antenatal Care (GANC) pilot in Yobe and Gombe States, an initiative designed to address inequities in maternal and child health, particularly among vulnerable and underserved populations.
In Kaduna State, we continue to sustain gains from our Primary Healthcare Management Capacity Strengthening interventions, reinforcing governance systems and institutional resilience for long-term impact. This edition further explores lessons from our innovative approach to grant management, demonstrating how strategic stewardship translates into measurable results on the ground.
