The final quarter of 2023 highlights TAConnect’s deepened commitment to gender equality and the implementation of gender-responsive health programming across Nigeria. A major milestone during this period was the commissioning of a comprehensive gender analysis across 10 states, strengthening the integration of gender considerations into Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health, and Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) interventions.
In Kano State, our collaboration with government partners continued to advance primary healthcare systems strengthening, with a focus on governance reforms, system resilience, and long-term sustainability. Concurrently, our partnership with the Pfizer Foundation supported immunization initiatives targeting childhood diarrhea in high-burden communities, contributing to improved child health outcomes.
This edition also underscores TAConnect’s commitment to addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV). As a Champion of Change during the global 16 Days of Activism campaign, we advanced impactful initiatives reinforcing our stance against GBV and promoting safer, more equitable communities.
Internally, our 2023 Annual Strategic Review Meeting in Akwa Ibom State marked a defining moment of reflection and alignment. Together with our Board, we reaffirmed our strategic direction and commitment to supporting Nigeria’s newly adopted sector-wide approach to health, as endorsed at the National Council of Health.
