PHC Management Capacity Strengthening

Significant efforts are being made to revitalize the PHC system in Nigeria, with varying results across the country. As part of efforts towards revitalizing and repositioning Primary Health Care, TAConnect with funding from BMGF supported tailored PHC Management Capacity Strengthening across four states between 2020-2025 in different phases.
Programme Overview
Primary Health Care (PHC) is the cornerstone of sustainable health systems for Universal Health Coverage (UHC). This intervention strengthens the management capacity of PHC Managers (Officers in Charge) and improves operational efficiencies through systems development and capacity-building interventions.

Strengthen the management capacity of PHC Managers and improve operational efficiencies of PHC facilities through systems development and capacity-building interventions to address gaps identified during PHC management capacity assessments.

- Sustained mentoring of PHC managers across thematic areas
- Integration into State Systems with harmonized job descriptions
- State and LGA mentors appointed and trained for continuity
