Strengthening the Frontlines: TAConnect Builds Capacity for Lifesaving Maternal Health Interventions in Kaduna & Yobe States

In April, TAConnect successfully facilitated a Master Trainers Training on the WHO-recommended Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) Bundle and E-MOTIVE innovation in Kaduna and Yobe States, under its ongoing “Accelerating Expanded Adoption of RMNCH+N Innovations and Health Reforms” project. A total of 26 Master Trainers across both states were equipped with critical knowledge and practical skills to manage PPH—one of the leading causes of maternal deaths—using proven, high-impact, evidence-based interventions.

The core objective of this activity was to build the capacity of a set of skilled of State Master Trainers capable of conducting effective cascade training for healthcare workers across various facilities. Specifically, it aimed to deepen their understanding of maternal and newborn health (MNH) innovations, strengthen their facilitation and knowledge-transfer capabilities, and equip them with essential tools and resources for monitoring and evaluating MNH interventions in the field.

This strategic approach ensures the sustainability of training efforts and fosters continuous quality improvement across health systems, contributing to the national push under the MAMII and SWAp approach to strengthen primary healthcare systems and improve maternal health outcomes

Kudos to all the facilitators, our partners, and dedicated state champions whose commitment continues to drive meaningful change and save lives across Nigeria.
